The reproductive cycle of cats

The final phase of the cycle is called Calved and which is characterised as a period of inactivity sex happens after several cycles of metoestrus.

For a few days before the cat really comes into heat, there will be a swollen vulva and she will become more restless. Your appetite may also increase at this time. Bastet is the goddess cat ancient Egyptian of the war, fertility, cats, the education of children and protection. Originally, she was named Bast (or Ubasti). The name became later Bastet, a nickname which has a more feminine connotations.
Bast is primarily represented as a woman with the head of a cat. However, it is also been portrayed as a regal and fierce desert cat.
Indeed, the cats were considered sacred animals of Bast and any act of violence or disrespect against a cat was seen as a direct attack against Bastet.
Archaeologists have found ancient statues and statuettes representing Liberian. Many of these statues show developed bugs, nose rings, necklaces and breastplates opulent with Bast.

According to legend, Bast is the daughter or Ra, the Sun God. It was considered one of the vengeful gods RAS. Bast was also seen as the protector of the Pharaohs. Later, the Greeks would change Bast ? known to them as Aelorus ? in a goddess of the moon as they have come to associate with the Greek goddess Artemis.
Importance of the Bast of the Egyptian Pantheon declined somewhat after the rise of Sekhmet, one of the other goddesses cats Egyptians. Many experts believe that the ascendancy of Sekhmet grew up after the consolidation of the upper and lower regions of the Egypt and as such, it has become a most popular deity. Sekhmet is perceived as a universal deity. However, Bast was more dominant in the low-Egypt. Some researchers say that Bast - and later Bastet - means Devourer of the goddess of the ointment jar and female. Without surprise, former Egyptian Bast was also the goddess of the balm for lips and perfumes. Incidentally, Bast was regarded as the consort of Anubis, the God of embalming.
As a solar goddess, Bast was also known as the Lady of flame and eye of RA. It was also called the Lady of the Orient.
Bast was regarded as the protector of the lower Egypt and Pharaohs and as such, it has been presented as a fierce lioness. It was also the goddess of the cat in the city of Bubastis (also known as the Per-Bast and Tell Bast), where she had a temple dedicated to her sacred cats.
The city of Bubastis was named Bast, whose original name was Ubasti. Bubastis was situated in the Eastern Nile delta region.

Among animals possibly the most perfect, and certainly
the most domestic, is the Cat. I did not think so always,
having had a bias against it, and was some time coming
to this belief; nevertheless, such is the fact. It is a
veritable part of our household, and is both useful, quiet,
affectionate, and ornamental. The small or large dog
may be regarded and petted, but is generally useless ; the
Cat, a pet or not, is of service. Were it not for our Cats,
rats and mice would overrun our house, buildings, cul-
tivated and other lands. If there were not millions of
Cats, there would be billions of vermin.


Since the foundation of the National Cat Club,
followed by the Cat Club and the British Cat Club, of
course cats have attained a more important position than
they formerly held, and not only are they raised in
popular favor, but have greatly increased in value, so
that specimens of sufficient quality to win prizes in their classes readily find purchasers at remunerative prices, and
I know of many persons, of both sexes, who keep well-
filled catteries to supply the demand created by the
shows.

In the early days, I should say long-haired cats were
decidedly in the minority, but for some years past I
expect for exhibition purposes more of the long-haired
have been bred than of the short-haired.
I have not the slightest doubt there are hundreds, if
not thousands, of cats running about the country quite
good enough to win prizes at shows, and to sell for sub-
stantial figures if their owners knew their value.
This I have proved on more than one occasion by
picking up specimens at different times in most unlikely
places, with which I have taken prizes at some of our best
shows.


IT has been suggested to me by many of my "catty"
friends that I should write a small handbook for cat
fanciers. I have had many years' ex-
perience with cats and kittens, and have also a real love
for them, without which I do not believe any one can be a
successful breeder and exhibitor of cats. What is worth
doing at all is worth doing well, and to combine profit with
pleasure is a most desirable end to have in view. The
object, therefore, of this little book is to assist cat lovers to
become cat fanciers. I trust that it may be found helpful
and instructive.

On 30 July, finally obtained an image of an Angel

Here it is. It is the calico. Guess where it is then not behind my head or under my feet.
The other image is its sister Baby j
My little dog was actually found Baby j. She started to bark in March 2008.
I went outside to see what it was the bark on.
At the time, I lived in Ky. and it was very cold outside. It arises in the bushes from the House. It did not have his eyes open very long. I took him and hand raised him. I had once a tuxedo kitty. She came to us to somewhere in the neighbourhood. I guess she liked food here better.
I challenge a little of your request for information. Mitties was dumber than a box of rocks. It will continue to pester our cat after be refutes who knows how many times and insist be in our kitchen rather small when everyone was there also, in liquidation has intervened on (which no one wanted to do, for the record). July 6, which is the ideal gift for a cat like the Pope: Steuben Crystal cat

When The Today Show feels broadcasters Matt Lauer and Al Roker to Italy to report on the state of the modern Catholic Church, their papal visit included a formal meeting with Pope Benedict XVI. Reports demonstrate that the public might be rather surprised that the NBC news team presented a crystal cat to the head of the Roman Catholic Church, but in truth, through both choice and tradition, the Curious Cat, a cat from Steuben crystal, proves to be a perfect gift for the pontiff.
This was not a typical piece of news coverage. The Today Show was accompanied by New York's Archbishop Timothy Dolan who gave Lauer and Roker a private tour through the Basilica, including a look at Pope John Paul II?s newly installed tomb?the first look for an American broadcast. The Vatican even allowed the Today Show private footage of Benedict XVI's daily life; starting from his morning Mass to his final evening hours, watching Italy's evening news.
After they joined a crowd of thousands listening to an address from the Pope, Lauer and Roker shared a private moment with the pontiff and the Archbishop. Upon initial introductions, the two Today Show hosts received personal blessings from the head of the Catholic Church. In return, Matt Lauer presented the Pope with the Steuben gift box that contained the crystal cat. The veteran news team also had a rare opportunity to visit with the pontiff in his private residence. This was a personal and intimate visit, even if it was broadcast and shared with the world, and required consideration of the Pope's personality, his fondness for cats and the tradition of American gifts of state.
In many ways, as the 265th Pope to lead the Catholic Church, Pope Benedict XVI is quite an individual who deserves to be recognized as more than just the oldest cardinal elected into the position of Pope since 1730.
A native of Bavaria, the Pope maintains both German and Vatican citizenship. He also remains a professor at the University of Regensburg, after a long academic career serving as a professor of theology at various German universities.
He was born Joseph Ratzinger in 1927 in what is considered a traditional Bavarian farming family; his father was a policeman. Given his age and nationality (he is the eighth German to become Pope), Ratzinger holds the unique distinction of being conscripted into the Hitler Youth following his 14th birthday in 1941. In 1943, while still in seminary, he was drafted into the German anti-aircraft body and then trained in the German infantry. As a German soldier, he was put in a POW camp even though he had deserted his post when the Allies drew near. He then reentered the seminary with his brother Georg after his release from the POW camp.
Known to repeatedly state that he would have liked to withdraw to his house in the Bavarian village and dedicate himself to writing books rather than be Pope, he has authored many books both before and after his Papal election in 2005. Pope Benedict is the founder and patron of the Ratzinger Foundation, a charitable organization, which makes money from the sale of his books and essays in order to fund scholarships and bursaries for students across the world.
Pope Benedict is an accomplished pianist with a deep interest in classical music, citing Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart as his favorite composer. Not only does he maintain a grand piano in his papal quarters to play, but the Pope has recorded an album of contemporary classical music in which he sings and recites prayers to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
While modern keys, such as the Church's new found use of social media to reach and communicate with parishioners, make us think otherwise, Benedict XVI is considered theologically conservative, defending traditional Catholic doctrine and values. It only makes sense to rely on traditional etiquette when visiting his home and The Today Show hosts did not come empty-handed when visiting the Pope.
It is said in traditional label, that when you visit someone?s home, one must bring a "hostess gift". A hostess gift is given to the host or hostess of an event by guests. A hostess gift is generally considered appropriate for dinners and parties, while guests who are staying for several days may get something larger. It is said that a hostess gift should also be something the recipient would not personally buy for him or herself. When the opportunity is there, a gift should complement the receiver. There are no public Miss Manners guidelines for papal visits. While the hostess gift might seem like a quaint tradition to some, it is still alive and well and appreciated by all recipients.
As Matt Lauer explained on the Today Show?s Wednesday morning segment:

"We had heard that this Pope has a real love for cats? and, anyway, we just wanted to offer him some gift to show our appreciation for the time and generosity he showed us."

Hence, the perfect fit for the pontiff was the crystal glass cat.

The citizens of Atlanta presented Martin Luther King, Jr. with an engraved Steuben bowl in honor of his winning the Nobel Peace prize. President Richard Nixon on the momentous occasion of the President?s first visit to China in 1972 presented Steuben's Tiered Prism to Premier Chou En-Lai. An engraved Steuben bowl was chosen as the gift of state from President and Mrs. Ronald Reagan for the wedding of Prince Charles and Princess Diana. Steuben?s Mobius Prism was given by President Clinton as a royal wedding gift to Crown Prince and Princess Hirohito of Japan. NYC Mayor David Dinkins gifted Steuben crystal to the Gulf War Generals Colin Powell, Norman Schwartzkopf, and Secretary of State Dick Cheney, at the "welcome Home" parade festivities and then something Steuben for Bill Clinton when he was the Democratic Presidential candidate.

Hypoallergenic cat breeds may be the answer to the people who are allergic to cats.

But is it really a breed of hypoallergenic cat? Fortunately, the answer is Yes. But that doesn?t mean that you will find a cat that doesn?t cause any type of allergy. Let me explain.

Hypoallergenic means less likely to cause an allergic reaction (hypo comes from the Greek and means less). There is therefore a low risk that the owner of cat will be still a few minor reactions to his cat.

There is therefore no non-allergenic cat? Unfortunately, there is no breed of cat which will cause any allergy to anyone. So to make it clearer: non-allergenic, means that it doesn?t cause allergies, hypoallergenic means that allergic reactions are reduced.

Some people think that hair cat?s are causing their allergies when, in fact, it is a particular protein that causes them. This protein known as FEL D1, is located on the saliva of cat?s and skin glands that secrete oil.

Of course, when the cat having itself, it will be transferring the allergen in his hair and he can then become airborne.

Other ways the allergen can spread is because of you cat licking you, your cat sheds a in the hair and dander.

There is a misconception that a non-shedding cat or a cat without hairs cause no allergies in people. Unfortunately, even these cats can cause allergies. Remember that allergens reside in the saliva of cat?s (mainly) and not in the fur trade. But the despair of the don?t. Even if you won't find non-allergenic cats, there are a few breeds of hypoallergenic cat.

Siberian

Despite his long hair, Siberian cat breed is one of the least allergenic cat breeds. The reason is that, compared to other breeds of cat, the Siberian has less FEL D1 protein in their body.

Russian Blue
