Bastet was? Bastet was the ancient Egyptian goddess of fertility, women and children. She was also the protector of the Pharaoh and low-Egypt. Bastet was a goddess of the Sun and as such was seen as the daughter of Ra, the Sun God and the other main Egyptian gods ancient.
Bastet was initially represented as a woman at the head of lioness, but then read a cat head woman. She was also portrayed as a desert cat.
Many names of Bastet
It is not known what the Bastet name means in reality, but some scholars believe that this means "she of the ointment jar." The following names are also associated with the goddess of the cat:
