Cat breeding-breeding cats Designer and cats from the disease, genetic

Prohibitions on domestic Cat hybrids of wild felines

Recently, the U.S. State of Iowa, the prohibition of Bengal cats. This prohibition shall include all cats of wild roots, "which means wild cats domestic Cat hybrids. These are cats Bengal, Chausie, Savannah and Safaris for example. Association of Devotees fishing Cat (CFA) refuses the registration of domestic cats with a "wild blood" in them. Fourth generation Bengal cats have about 12% of Asian Leopard in them. CFA is the most conservative of the registry. The international registry, the Cat is a lone expedition and registers more races, including the Bengal. There is divided opinion about the national Feral Cat hybrids. Bengal, however, is very popular, the cat is showing a willingness to keep public wild felines substitutes.

There is a continued willingness by the cat lovers ' own "(I prefer or adoption) of unusual and valuable" objects "and that includes animals and are one of the most popular animals to lead cats. How to cat breeders keep up with the demand for exotic and unusual in observance of the moral code and high standards of animal welfare?

Moral issues/arguments

Moral consideration is whether it is good for nature to create designer and cat breeds exotic cats by the mating of wild and domestic. The Idea is in the pursuit of such Cat hybrids, which he will be reminded of the hassle dwindling number of feral cats in the world.

The counter Argument is that this form of livestock damage wild felines in this growth in interest is fed by the breeding programme, which encourages the abuse by feral cats in the West and increases imports of BREEDS of feral cats to the West. Biggest market for exotic pets and cats is much the United States.

Gene mutation

Not only are there questions about exotic cats that same moral dilemma exists in respect of the rearing of cats that suffer from genetic defects (mutations). These are cats such as the dwarf cats, tailless cats and cats from formed ears interesting and rare. Again by the unusual catches the eye of public consumers and lover of cats and breeders a sense of obligation in the creation of a greater number of these rare cats. But it is right to create more cats, which have serious defects/disorder that sometimes (rarely with careful husbandry) has fatal consequences and the additional conditions that harm the cat (e.g. kitten flat chest dwarf cats). See links to articles about a number of mutant RAS Another side of the RAS on my page. Examples are Bobtailed cats and cats and the dwarf.

Commercial pressure

Then is the commercial pressure to breed cats more and it could be argued that the cats of wrong type. The desires of the public are checked and inspected by the authorities (see the above prohibition of Iowa).

The Conclusion Of The

It is not possible to be highly commercial and priorities for the welfare of the cats in my opinion cats racial. Catteries should be small and one litter ideally be kept at the same time. The exception appears to be a cat, Feral domestic hybrids bred by Allerca company and sold at high prices (up to 30 000 USD for a cat or Yes). The company treats these cats as a product. I think that is the incorrect attitude of propriety.

Exotics and mutated RAS; May adopt exotic BREEDS of designer provided growers adhere to high standards and you can see wider issues (effects on nature). I cannot, however, that creating more cats from disruptions is admissible and, in this regard, I agree with CFA, who shall not register such as dwarf cats because of this.
